I love the interaction of the lines in this quilt.
I can see a light diagonal lattice with the overlay of the darker trellis, with diamonds and a diagonal cross that takes you from corner to corner. Even though all of this is going on its still a gentle quilt.
I’ve chosen a wide selection of favourite “Japanese” taupe prints. Not all of them are of Japanese origin, but they all blend beautifully together. Many fabrics are actually printed in Japan, but designed elsewhere and so they still use the beautiful soft Japanese dyes.
Choose fabrics that are darker than your sashing’s – both coffee and cream. Select interesting prints – it’s a lovely way to showcase them.
This quilt would work in many colour combinations but always consider the colouring of the two sashing fabrics to get the movement.
