Seahorses
Seahorses
I designed this wall hanging back in the 90's after I completed my City & Guilds in Patchwork, using a new method to me - irregular English paper piecing (think hexagons).
As I am well aware EPP is not everyone’s favourite method so I made it again using bonded appliqué (Bondaweb). This method worked very well & is obviously a lot quicker with no loss to the appearance of the design. For the bonded piece I also reduced the size of the pattern and chose not to piece the background as I thought it would be too busy.
Full instructions are given for both the EPP & bonded methods for the seahorses.
The background to the large wall hanging is Foundation Paper Pieced and is included too.
The Seahorse template included in this pattern is for the reduced size A3 but the size is given to increase the template up to the large (original size).
Original wall hanging (shown on cover) 36” x 46” Bonded wall hanging 22” x 26”
There are also instructions to make a a six foot long Seahorse - without background. This looks fabulous hanging in a stairwell!
