Taupe Tumblers

Once again, I have chosen to look at traditional blocks/units.

You cannot beat simple shapes with beautiful fabrics.

I have designed two bags using the same tumbler unit.

The smaller bag has a wide oval base & short handles, whereas the larger bag is flatter with a narrow sugar bag base & two shoulder straps.

The large bag was made entirely from Japanese woven fabrics and the smaller bag uses a mixture of woven & prints.

Both use light & dark as a contrast, which helps with the placement of fabrics.

I used a selection of twelve fabrics – 6 dark & six light – just make sure there is a contrast of some kind between the two groups.

Large bag measures 18” x 13” x 4”  Small bag measures 16” x 8” x 7”
